Requirements

Some Bachelor's degree courses can only be studied part-time from a higher semester onwards. You can find out which subject-specific conditions apply to part-time study under Part-time options .

You can choose between a recommended part-time study plan of 15 CP and one of 20 CP per semester, whereby you can still earn as many credit points as you like in a semester.

  • Deadline extensions for the completion of the minimum requirements to ensure academic success and doubling of the submission deadline for the thesis (exception: Architecture)
  • Reduced number of semesters

The completed form with the supporting documents must be submitted to the Service Center for Part-time Studies, Studying with Children.

  • Deadline for the summer semester: March 1 to April 30
  • First for the winter semester: September 1 to October 31

In exceptional cases, applications outside the deadline will also be accepted.

The application is valid for at least one academic year and can be submitted as often as required. Depending on the reason for part-time study, a longer period of part-time study can also be approved. It is possible to switch to full-time study at the end of each semester.

The part-time status is stored in TUCaN, but is not noted on the study certificates. A certificate of part-time status will be issued.

The regulations for part-time studies at TU Darmstadt are summarized in the statutes for the organization and design of part-time studies at TU Darmstadt (part-time statutes) (opens in new tab) (German).
